1. Introduction

Vedapath ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Vedapath Design Engineering Private Limited (a company incorporated in India, CIN: U58111HR2026PTC145918, registered office: Fifth Floor, Plot No. 87, Sector 44, Gurugram, Haryana 122003, India), provides AI-powered access to Ancient Indian Texts through multimodal interfaces. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information globally. By using our app, you agree to these terms.

Account Data: Name, email, user ID, phone number
Demographic Data: Political/religious beliefs, sexual orientation (optional)
Voice Interactions: Audio recordings for AI processing

5. Security Measures

De-identification: When an account is deleted, activity and content are disconnected from identity and retained only in de-identified form for analytics and service/AI-model improvement; data required by law and de-identified or aggregated data may be retained for longer or indefinitely.

6.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app: open the menu, choose Delete Account, and complete the two-step confirmation. Deletion takes effect immediately and your account cannot be restored. There is no waiting period, and you are free to create a new account afterwards. You can also request deletion without the app — see How to delete your Vedapath account.

What we permanently delete. We permanently delete your profile (name, email, profile photo, notification token and notification preferences) and your sign-in identity. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke your Sign in with Apple token using Apple's REST API, as Apple requires. This step cannot be undone.

What we keep in de-identified form. The activity and content you created — your AI chat conversations (including the text you typed, which we do not edit or screen for personal details you may have entered), bookmarks, reading progress, streaks, likes, comment votes, onboarding answers and public comments — is disconnected from your identity and re-keyed to a single random identifier. We do not keep a way to map that identifier back to you. We retain this de-identified data to understand how the service is used and to improve our service and AI models. Because the original text you typed is kept, we describe this honestly as strong de-identification rather than guaranteed-irreversible anonymisation, and we do not claim it can never be linked back to a person.

Public comments. Comments you posted in public threads remain visible for conversation context, but are no longer shown as belonging to you.

Legal basis for retention. We retain de-identified data on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in analytics and in improving the service and our AI models (and, to the extent any residual data is treated as no longer personal data, it falls outside data-protection law). We may also retain limited information where we are required to for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security or fraud-prevention purposes, and we may keep de-identified and aggregated data indefinitely.

Want the de-identified data erased too? If you would like us to fully erase the residual de-identified data associated with your past activity, email privacy@vedapath.app from the email address on your account. To act on this effectively, contact us before you delete your account, while we can still locate your data; once your identity is removed we may be unable to find it to erase it. We verify your identity, and act without undue delay (normally within 30 days).

6.3 EU / UK and India-Specific Rights

EU/UK users may exercise GDPR/UK GDPR Articles 15–21 rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection) via the DPO contact below, and may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. Indian users may exercise their rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including correction and erasure, by contacting our DPO.
