The Devi Bhagavatam (Devi Bhagavata Purana) is the foremost scripture of the Shakta tradition, dedicated to the supreme Goddess (Devi) as the ultimate reality. Narrated by Vyasa to King Janamejaya, it contains approximately 19,700 verses across 12 Skandhas and 303 Adhyayas. The text encompasses the Devi Gita, the sacred Shakti Peethas, cosmology, devotional hymns, philosophical teachings, and the heroic narratives of the Goddess vanquishing cosmic evil.
