About This Book

The Mudgala Purana is the foremost Upapurana dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Attributed to the sage Mudgala, it contains approximately 23,145 verses across 10 Skandhas and 433 Adhyayas. The text narrates the eight incarnations of Ganesha (Ashtavinayaka), each defeating a specific inner demon -- jealousy, pride, delusion, greed, anger, lust, attachment, and ego. It also contains the Ganesha Gita, a philosophical discourse paralleling the Bhagavad Gita, and detailed instructions on vratas, mantras, and worship practices.
